Theodor von Reding 1755 - 1809

From Wikipedia:

Theodor von Reding (5 July 1755 – 23 April 1809) was a Swiss general of the Napoleonic Wars most notable for his career in the service of Spain.

He was born in Schwyz, the son of the aristocrat Josef Rudolf Reding von Biberegg (1726-1799).

In July 1808 von Reding fought under General Castaños at the great Battle of Bailén, where the 3rd Swiss Regiment Reding fought with conspicuous effort. Reding was wounded in action on 25 February 1809, during the Battle of Valls. He died in Tarragona on 23 April, after eleven days of suffering from fever as a consequence of his wounds received earlier in the Battle of Valls.
